The club will receive a monetary award from AMA for the positive publicity received for the Open House Fly-in for Autism. We should be soon receiving a check for around $300. It could be $375! Here is a link to the AMA website.
Here is the body of the email that was sent to Chris Brooks at the AMA for consideration of the Club Recognition and Rewards Program.
Chris,
Here is the application for the Club Recognition and Reward Program. Our club vice president, Arturo Espejo, asked that I complete and send in the application given the limited time. The three attached files have the application and screen prints of the TV shows website. The event was a fundraiser for the Autism Society of America - Central Illinois Chapter. It was held on June 25, 2011. The broadcast aired for the first time on July 9, 2011 and several times afterward.
As I mentioned in the earlier email, the video is available for viewing at the "Illinois Central" website. The direct link is http://www.illinoiscentral.tv/sections/videos/videos/vid_65.shtml.
Here is an excerpt from the Illinois Central website that describes the program.
Illinois Central is a weekly half-hour program that airs every Saturday at 6:30p and 10:35p, and every Sunday at 10:35p on ABC Newschannel 20 and 15.
Every week "Illinois Central" brings you the stories about the people in central Illinois. From our weekly "Cruisin' Illinois" segment — which features motorcycle culture — to the arts and everything in between. If it's happening in central Illinois, we'll bring you the story.
Chris Scheldt was also interviewed live on the air WICS Sunrise News by Jessica English a couple days before the event.
I will try to get a higher quality video for both of the appearances from WICS if you desire. Please let me know if there is anything else you need for the application. Thank you for considering us for the program
