NON-AMA MEMBERS and Newcomers Needing Instruction
Please complete this form to sign up for an introductory flight or to request additional information about the club. We will have someone contact.
You DO NOT need your own equipment for the introductory flight. In fact, we would prefer that you not buy anything until you talk to us or an experienced RC pilot. If you have already purchased an airplane, we can use it for your training after we fly it to set trims and making sure it is airworthy. If not we can use a club trainer to get you started.
During the introductory flight, you WILL FLY a radio controlled airplane! You WILL LEARN how the transmitter works with the receiver and the controls to make the airplane do what it does in the air! And, you WILL ENJOY your time at the field! You WILL NOT be a spectator. Bring your family!
To ensure continued coverage of liability insurance, all newcomers may have one introductory flight but to continue flying, they must be registered at no cost with the AMA Introductory Pilot Program. An instructor can do this for you. This will allow flying for 60 days. After 60 days, the newcomer must join the AMA and become a member of the club.
AMA MEMBERS
If your are an AMA member new to the area , already a capable flyer and want to join our club, please fill out the form and we will contact you about joining. You will need to come to a club meeting to meet the members, attend a safety briefing about field rules and demonstrate flying proficiency before you will be able to fly on your own.
If you are an AMA member and traveling through the area and would like to get in a flight, please contact us in advance if possible. If you see planes in the air and the gate is open, come on back. Remember, this is an active airport and look for aircraft on the ground and in the air before driving around and especially before driving along the runway. You are welcome at our field, but non-members may fly only in the presence of a club member. You should expect to be asked to show an AMA card for the type of plane you are flying.
